Food: round 2

I mentioned a while back that somehow I had drifted to "stereotypical bachelor mode". Since then that's shifted a bit.

Why the change? Two primary reasons:

  1. Cooking as procrastination. The semester is under way, and making food is a decent excuse to avoid doing things like the lesson prep for Monday that I really should be doing right now.
  2. It's simply been too cold to make me want to venture outside unless necessary.

The weather has been getting warmer again, so #2 is no longer causing me to spend time in the kitchen. To hopefully minimize the amount of fast food and takeout consumed all the time, I've also taken a few more steps. I ordered a portable dishwasher. I've also braced myself to live with with that ever-so-terrifying word: leftovers.

What's so scary about leftovers, Dave? Do you get a chance to head home for lunch, or do you have a microwave at your disposal? If so, you could conceivably have a hot lunch every day. I know on days where I get a lunch at home I either have leftovers, or barbeque a couple burgers, or, if I have lots of time, throw a pizza in the oven! Don't forget, if you're cooking for yourself you are probably making something you like (either that, or you're crazy!) Presumably, if you like it for supper, it could be a good lunch.

I'm not crazy...oh, wait, nevermind.

Leftovers aren't quite as good as fresh food. I think that I'll stick to buying lunch at school (although, yes, I can use a microwave). I'll save the leftovers for the evenings.
