Time to visit the dentist...

I've mentioned before that, from a scientific standpoint, there's little evidence that dental cleanings accomplish anything positive. I'm starting to wonder if they actually might have negative effects. (This is based on a small sample size - me - so you can't draw any firm conclusions). Basically, I've found that the longer I wait between dental cleaning appointments, the more likely the dentist seems to be to give me a clean bill of health.

I'd been planning to head to the dentist within the next couple of weeks - for a regular cleaning - but I plan to call tomorrow to see if I can get in sooner. I'm guessing that by the end of it my dentist will be a wealthy individual.

I suspect that I take better care of my teeth than most, but that doesn't seem to work. Floss daily; brush (at least) twice a day; even daily use an anti-septic, flouride rinse (a step above regular mouth wash).

*sigh* ... I tend to be developing a fairly fatalistic view of dental care. Doom and gloom, with a bit of pain on the side.
